Floatopia Day Parties

Make sure to pack your floaties because our beachside Floatopia Day party returns both Friday and Saturday this year.

The fun will start at 11am in front of The Coconut Club and will run through the day with a mind-melting lineup pumping tunes into the water that you will not want to miss. Spiked Coconuts, margaritas and more will be available in the beachside bars for those 21+.

Floaties will be available for purchase on-site if you forget yours. We'll also have a Floatie Buy-Back program to help reduce plastics going to the landfill.

Workshops

Discover your full potential and ignite your soul at SSBD with over 15 workshops spanning the weekend including: Yoga, Breath-work, Meditation, Dance Classes, Painting Classes, Crafting, Intentional Movement and Knowledge classes from experts in their field. Workshops are all completely free to attend.

Great Food All Weekend

You're welcome and encouraged to pack your own food for the weekend but if you forget we'll have delicious food trucks and vendors on-site all weekend to get you through the festival. Options for vegans, gluten free and food allergies will be available for purchase. Full list of food trucks will be made available prior to the festival.

Enjoy The Views

We encourage everybody to explore the beauty this state park has to offer. Miles of hiking trails, scenic views and waters that are perfect temperature for swimming during September all help make Same Same But Different a festival you won't forget. It's truly a gem located in the heart of Southern California.

Camp Next To The Water

We have a lot of area to camp in at the festival. This year we're allowing campers to set up their tents all the way down the beach and next to the water. If you prefer a different area you're free to choose from 5 different camp zones when you arrive (capacity depending).

We encourage all attendees to camp out with us and believe camping out as a collective helps contribute to the vibe of a festival as much as the music. If camping isn't your thing there are plenty of hotels and vacation home rentals in the area.

The Coconut Club

Where else can you wake up and get yourself a rum-filled coconut and listen to world-class DJs while you float out in the water? The Coconut Club sits inside the festival grounds at the side of the water and holds daytime music and games as well as late-night vibes and some workshops.

What We're All About

Dance, Play And Be Silly

This is a space to be completely and fearlessly yourself. We don't take ourselves too seriously, have fun and step out of your comfort zone!

The Dancefloor

Everybody want to be close to the action but remember to move carefully & calmly through crowds. Never push through people. If you want to be in the front for a set, your best option is to arrive early.

Harm Reduction

Remember the Golden Rule... “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” Offer support to those in need. If somebody looks lost or unwell, ask them how they are. If needed, help them find medical or security staff.

Explore New Music Genres

We think it's important for all of us to listen to new ideas and new concepts with an open mind. Try checking out some new music you never thought you'd like and see where it takes you!

Take Care Of Yourself

Listen to your body! Connect with your body. Drink water, take breaks, get sleep, be present, and know your limits. The future of this event depends on you!

Respect People's Boundaries and Bodies

Personal Space is real. Keep your hands to yourself unless given clear verbal consent. Never assume & always listen. Compliment kindly not crudely. Approach every person respectfully.

Take Responsibility For Your Actions and Words

What you say, the costumes you wear, and the things you do can impact those around you. Check yourself regularly, educate yourself, be open to constructive feedback, and when in doubt ask.

Actively Participate

We all take an active role in creating the SSBD experience for everyone. We stay off the sidelines (and our phones!), exploring the possibilities of being the best versions of ourselves. Put down the phone! Maybe this is the disconnect you need. Turn it off, leave it at camp, let it go. Instagram will still be there when you get back.

Lead By Example

Kind acts are contagious! Pick up some trash and watch the person next to you do the same. See how many kind acts you can create.

Share Your Creativity

Create, take a drawing class, or explore participatory art. Just don’t deface or damage someone else’s art! Create with respect.

Respect The Land

We have gratitude for the land and community where SSBD is held. We strive to leave the land better than we found it and make a positive impact as part of the community. Pleas respect native plant and wildlife in ht

Pack It In, Pack It Out

Manage your camp trash, take all your camping gear home, and leave your space better than it was when you got there.
