Everything You Need To Know Before You Go
As we get closer to the kickoff year of SSBD Fest the questions have been rolling in about what to bring, what to expect, when to get there, etc. We thought we’d shed some light on the plans for the festival and let you know everything we can tell you so you’re fully aware of what to expect when you get to Same Same But Different. We want to still keep some things a surprise though :)
ARRIVAL: We’ve partnered with Eventbrite this year for ticketing. Where they hurt on fees they can save hours at the gate. Make sure you have your ticket either printed or available on your phone so we can scan you in and give you your wristband.
We will be checking cars at arrival so that means no weapons, drugs or mass quantities of alcohol. You can bring in your own beer but if it looks like you’re bringing in enough to sell we won’t let your vehicle in. For a complete list check our FAQ.
Make sure you arrive at the WEST GATE of the park. If directions take you to the north gate you will be turned around and it’s about a 10 minute drive to get back to the west gate. The north gate will be closed during the festival.
CAMPING: All festival passes include your camping. You can just camp…it’s that simple, no extra passes or fees to do so! We’ve gotten a lot of questions about this so we want to be clear, all passes include your camping for both nights of the festival (Saturday & Sunday night).
PARKING: We encourage car-pooling as much as possible. If you’re bringing a car you will have to purchase a parking pass to park at the festival. It’s $10 for GA parking. If you would like to park next to where you’re camping you will need to purchase a Car Camping Pass, these are $40. The Car Camping Lots all have their own BBQ and picnic tables plus are very close to bathrooms & showers. If you have an RV or would like to park next to electric outlets on your campsite you will need to purchase an RV Parking Pass for $65.
PAINT CLASSES: There will be a big tent right by the Same Stage in the main festival area where all painting / art classes will happen through the weekend. There are 40 seats in each class and it’s first-come-first-serve for the classes. Go early and sign up with Krystal or Hannah to reserve your spot early.
WILL THE MUSIC STOP AT 2AM: No it won’t, if you’re looking to keep the good times rolling you’ll want to find your way to the Social Garden Tent in the main festival area. They’ll be kicking out beats late into the night.
THE BEACH: During swimming hours the beautiful water is your playground! After sunset ya’ll gotta get out though…it’s the rules PLUS it’s dangerous to be swimming late at night, that’s how things go wrong so no late night skinny-dips, sorry! Also on the beach you can hang at the Coconut Club. They’ll be kicking out beats during the day and selling refreshing chopped coconuts to drink on the beach along with massages and other fun stuff.
SHOWERS: All the campgrounds have running indoor showers and bathrooms that are cleaned many times throughout the festival.
THE LINEUP: It’s gonna be a funky good time! Check out our FAQ page if you have more questions that were unanswered or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org
