Misa James is a singer/songwriter, live performer, actor, dancer, and musician whose work centers around communal singing, healing, and growth. From as early as 5 years old, Misa has been performing and creating music, drawing from a background in choir, musical theatre, Motown, R&B, and pop to develop his voice and stage presence. In July 2024, Misa won a first-place gold medal with The Westminster Chorus at the International Barbershop Convention. In August 2025, he took first place in the KQED x Good Compenny Bay Area Music Showcase. He has also spent seven years performing at California’s Great America while continuing to write and release his own music. What makes Misa’s live performances unique is the camaraderie. Nothing unites people more than singing together about something that matters. His music touches on loneliness, grief, financial struggle, and chicken tenders—things that truly matter in this world. His performances are as good for the ears as they are for the soul.
